More than 71.4% of all escrow closings in the last study took place in a master plan of one form or another and 62% of all single-family permits were issued in masterplanned communities. Major masterplanned communities - those featuring a golf course or other major amenity - captured 36% of all recorded sales Valleywide and 34.4% of the permit activity. There are many, masterplanned communities in the Valley. Below are a few in each area. Masterplanned communities feature family-style neighborhoods, resort-style, adult, gated, or even retirement, such as the well-known Sun City.
